Gleich um die Ecke bei Slea Head - ein Häuschen, das es nötig hat, befestigt zu werden. Zu starke Winde, zu geringes Eigengewicht.

 Just around the corner on Slea Head we were interested to see how it is obviously very necessary to secure this light hut from being blown away by the strong coastal winds.

Das sieht hier ganz anders aus: eine Kapelle aus dem 9.Jahrhundert, deren Standfestigkeit als erwiesen gelten dürfte. Das Gallarus Oratorium - ein Gebetshaus aus frühchristlicher Zeit. Das Einzige vollständig erhaltene.

But this hut-like structure has survived the storms of centuries. It is the famous Gallarus Oratorium, an early Christian Chapel from the 8th century, the only one of the period that has survived without serious damage.
